  • Region >> Europe >> Belgium - Major attractions sightseeing - Bruges

Bruges is Belgium's most visited town and Europe's well preserved medieval city. This can be aptly called as the living museum of 13th century with country's most compelling art collections. Boudewijnpark is a sensational theme park for both young and old located just outside the city centre. There are some beautiful parks for the people who need some rest and change from the busy tourist centers. Baron Ruzettepark, a small garden near Komvest, ring road, Graaf Visartpark, another small park with a traffic circuit for children giving them the opportunity to learn every day traffic rules. Minnewaterpark, very charming parks near Minnewater, Lake of Love and Begijnhof, Beguinage. In summer open air concerts take place here regularly. Stadspark Sebrechts is a park in which every year an exhibition of sculptures takes place.

During a roundtrip on the picturesque city canals we can discover Brugge from quite a different and surprising angle. We can enjoy a relaxing trip along a historic canal through the beautiful Flemish countryside in an interesting paddle- steamer 'The Old Piper' built in Amsterdam in 1928. The Bruges-Gent canal was constructed on the orders of Napoleon.
