Portugal is divided into north and south by the River Tagus North Portugal is cool and rainy and south is warm and dry. Portugal also includes Azores and Madeira Islands.

Portugal is one of the most rewarding travel destinations in Europe. Exploring its towns, cities, villages, and countryside will likely to take more time than expected, as there is so much richness and variety along the way. It has superb beach resorts and a landscape encircled in olive groves, vineyards and wheat fields also offers art treasures, flavorful cuisine, a unique form of architecture, Manueline, charming handcrafts, relatively moderate hotel rates, and polite and friendly people. Portugal food is cheap but delicious. Portugal joined with 10 other European countries in launching the euro on 1 January 1999.
