    France is the largest country both in size and in food production and exporting in Western Europe. It lies between three big nations, namely, Spain, Germany and Italy. France is bounded on the south by the Pyrenees Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea; on the east by the Alps and the Rhine River; and on the west by the Atlantic Ocean and the English Channel.

    The French call their country L'Hexagon because of its roughly six-sided shape. The main produce are grains, maize, rice, fruits, potatoes, wine, live stock and dairy products. Among the manufactured products the most important are chemicals, silk, cotton textiles, automobiles, aircraft, ships, precision instruments, electronic equipments and perfumes.

    The best time to visit France is April-October. France has a predominantly temperate climate, with mild winters, except in mountain areas and the northeast. France is a mix of climates and terrains endowed it with a rich variety of fauna. Skiing, Hiking and Cycling are the main mania in France. French obsessions with spectator sports such as soccer, rugby, basketball and cycling. The best swimming spots are found along the Atlantic coast, near La Rochelle, the Channel coast of Normandy, southern Brittany, the Mediterranean as well as on lakes such as Lac d'Annecy and Lake Geneva. . Paris represents the height of fashion, art and food.
